Has anyone had their car stolen by having key fob hacked? I have a Charger Hellcat. They are sort of hard to find and very expensive. I know about Faraday cages and the tin foil wrap. Any views or suggestions from you guys?
That's what I have read. The Faraday cages are basically a ziplock made from a type of foil based material. I used Faraday cages when I worked at Boeing to shield emergency oxygen masks during handling to keep static from discharging them.
i think this is more a fib than true. I would assume OEM would have rolling codes and other things that would only match fob to car. Seems kinda dumb to make it easy to "hack" into a newer car these days. Id say at least 10 yrs ago I had a viper alarm that had rolling codes that were not easy to "hack" I think this is for the old pre 2000 cars with basic fobs.
Its not a fib. I have seen articles about it. Seen one how cops showed and explained how it is possible, and here is an article about how it is possible http://www.chicagotribune.com/class...-fingerprint-fob-car-tech-20180924-story.html
love to read that site but its soo full of spam my computer cant stop blocking it If this was an issue thiey would have taken care of this a long time ago
It is a problem hence this article explaining how you could see finger print sensors in conjunction with a key fob in the near feature
