I'm getting ceramic pro put on my car, and what the guy told me is the 9H layer is basically lifetime, but the "light" coat that goes on top is what degrades over time and will eventually need another coat. However even on the gold package which carries the lifetime warranty, it still has the "light" coat on top, the main difference is that it's 4 coats of 9H instead of 1. So after so long the "light" coat will still need done on the lifetime package.

with ceramic pro the installer is technically supposed to do yearly inspections to make sure the "light" coat is in good shape

Correct, my Chally is ceramic coated, installer told me what you are saying as well, but I only got the 5 year because the next jump up was lifetime and was double what 5 year was, so I will definitely need to go in sometime to get the "light" coat reapplied at some point

That is a good idea to do the wheels, I may have to do that as well.

Is there a particular brand you are using?
Our Scat came with Xzilon coating from the dealer. - body only, not the wheels.
It does seem to make cleaning dust/dirt off the car easier.

I found a installer close to me that uses Ceramic Pro. Even with the coating the wheels obviously still get dirty and have brake dust on them , but cleaning them is soo easy.
