I’ve only played with the adaptive cruise control a a little. Once had the screen flash the warning to brake. It freaked out on someone turning right and I was in no danger of hitting the car
You probably had the warning set to max distance (default) and yes, that has happened to me as well. However, I was cruising down a highway when the guy ahead of me decided to basically stop for some reason, I was pretty far back from him and I don't think his brake lights were working. The ACC braking got my attention for sure. I like how the ACC will match pace / maintain distance with the car in front of me. The lane sensor is cool as well, the car basically drives itself. Last trip to Dallas, I set it and climbed into the back seat to watch videos with my grandson..... OK, well, maybe not lol
I love my Adaptive Cruise, I wanted to see how well it worked, took an off ramp from the interstate following other cars as well and it continued to slow me down up until 25-30 mph then turned off. And I agree, on the interstate it pretty much drives itself
