I am posting this info here for the first time, it has never been mentioned on any forum ever. It came to mind when I posted in a previous thread and thought it should be made public.

In 2007 Chrysler on select models installed security hologram stickers on certain car body parts of some of their models. I can only state factually that one minivan model had them and either the 1,000 SuperBee or only the 100 SuperBees 2007 models sold in Canada had them. I do not know if this was extended to 08 / 09 SuperBee models.

These stickers were placed on the Hoods, Doors, Deck lid, Body, Fenders, and carry the VIN # on the stickers. This was done to prevent anyone from cloning the vehicle. e.g.: turning SRT8 into SuperBee. Or a limited run Anniversary minivan model.

This program was dropped after 1 or 2 years because of cost and in plant security reasons. If one of these vehicles while still on plant property for example required a hood or door change security had to be notified along with scheduling and they would have to generate a replacement sticker for the new part and personnel from both would then come to the shop floor and remove the old sticker which would become destroyed upon removal and would then place the new sticker on the new part. quite time consuming.

So if you ever want to purchase a used SuperBee just look under hood, drivers door or under rear deck lid to see the stickers, no stickers not a real Bee.

Now beside the hologram stickers every part that has a bar code on the part number tag has been scanned in plant during production and is tied to that specific vehicle order number or Vin number. Now before I continue we need to clear up the supplier side of this scanning process. The supplier e.g.: TRW supplies the rear axle module to the plant, they in turn scan all components during their assembly such as axle hubs, brakes, differential etc. they then when complete scan the total assembly and generate a new part number with bar code and attach it to the module. So when Chrysler scans the module all those sub parts get attached to Chrysler Von or Vin.

Now when you vehicle is taken in for service, and requires a new part, that part is tagged to your vehicle and the part number replaces the original part number on record if it has been changed or modified. new part number.

So now your car breaks down or you have a minor fender bender and you decide to buy another wreck for parts to save some money, but the wreck you bought was stolen or some parts were from a stolen vehicle and after you get it all repaired you take it to dealer for something and they scan a part you replaced and the system alerts the dealer that the part was from a stolen vehicle because the Vin # popped up as stolen. OH OH now even though you played by the rules you have to explain how you obtained stolen parts.

Now the integrity of the system is based on keeping the salvage of any vehicles ( parts or whole ) is making sure the public does not get the opportunity to receive used parts, and is why you cannot buy a wrecked car body today it has to be crushed. and why used dealers cannot sell a used car as roadworthy today.

Hopefully this helps explain government controlled program for auto theft and why we pay so much for our cars today.

Sorry this was so long the point I only wanted to make were the hologram stickers on the SuperBee but it is all related to vehicle theft. If you report your car stolen can they disable your vehicle so it cannot be driven at all ??????

Yes it is. I was reading through on line Kijjiji looking for a wrecked charger and came across a local shop add parting out a car. so I called them to see if I could purchase just the body once they were done with the sale. I was told that Canadian Federal Law now prevents any business from selling car bodies, they will lose their license if they do. The car body must be sent to a crusher and fed agency notified. so the only way to get one would be by a private owner.

Why can the shop sell the parts but not the body ? because they know whoever buys the parts will have to eventually visit a dealership to get parts rescanned to their vehicle. And the shop you bought the parts from can be followed up on.

Yep the feds want to make sure they get their tax dollars even from small shops, we use to have 4 salvage yards in our county. they are all gone now.

Yes, when I was searching the net for the next SuperBee to be shipped to Local Dealership and discovered one I went there after work and it was already in the show room. I walked around the car a few times Looking specifically for the add on's that qualify it to be SuperBee, and I noticed the Hologram stickers, salesman did not even know what they were, well kept little secret.

Amazes me that we forum guys always seem to know more about things then the sales guys/dealerships do.
