OK, first out of state trip for the Charger. Seats are comfortable, the magic eyeball (ACC) is nice, I like lane sense, my wife does not. tires/road noise is loud. We got about 20 mpg travelling through Texas, our highway speed limit is 75 mph, however, average mileage increased to 25 mpg between the Texas border and New Orleans. Louisiana highways are 70 mph, however a lot of a areas were 60 due to construction. Side note, the quality of the roads in Louisiana is not good. Lots of cops out on the highway, though. Driving in New Orleans is a mess. (I already knew that.)
25 is a respectable number consider what you are driving I’m guessing you don’t listen to the radio with the wife in the car to say that the tires are loud.
I have to crank the radio really loud to overcome the road noise, which is fine when I am by myself, but with the wife and the black box in the car, not so much. The black box was in the back seat watching movies on the i-Pad. I'm also not sure you have the same tires that came on our Scat. I'm convinced, they are just not that great. My friend had a similar issue with the tires that came on his wife's mustang, once they changed to the michelin, that is the first thing he said.... much less road noise.
FYI, I am happy with 25mpg since the car is rated 15/25. I notice that the 2019 are rated 15/24, I wonder why the mileage drop?
on this car no i don't have the same tires, but on the 2017 5.7 i had the same tires and didn't notice them to be loud, but i generally am alone and have the stereo turned up
Well, we survived the trip, 1,898 total miles, trip counter shows 31hrs total engine running time, which includes a lot of city traffic. 24mpg total trip average, not bad, considering. Good time was had by all. One observation, these guys I was in the army with got old, but I am still the same. lol
I quick google search confirms it's not just me, a very common complaint for the Goodyear Eagle RS A is road noise.
