I know, I know, this is a Charger forum and you guys love your cars, but do any of you like the Model S?
The Teslas are damn fast but for long term I would take a hellcat. I don't feel battery technology is far enough along to last over the years. Plus who knows how long high performance gas engines will be legal with continuing emissions restrictions
I love my Hellcat.....the Tesla is neat, but.......I just don't think I'd be able to walk away from the roar / whine I have.
That's the only negative I see about the tesla. To quite. I'm such a tech geek though that I love the tech stuff in it. I would also miss the sound/roar of the exhaust evertime I would take off.
Tesla Model S: 300mi range and ~9 hrs to charge it. On a roadtrip, using one of Tesla's supercharger stations, looks to be an hour to get charged up. Closest Tesla charging station to my house is 40mi. I live in Texas. However, according to the map, there are more charging stations across the state than I would have guessed. Interesting note (for me), we have kids and grandkids that live in Waco, and we go there to visit, not very many charging stations in Waco (2), however one hotel we stay at (Holiday Inn) has a destination charging station.
I assume that right now the charging stations are free. I bet the more electric cars hit the road and the more these stations get used that will change. Also one day there will be some kind of tax on electric cars because States get their funds to maintain roads from gas taxes. If people are not buying gas but using the roads they don't have the income. Basically they either get you coming or going.
