Anyone have any thoughts/opinions on the ceramic coatings being offered these days? I'm old, not bought a car in several years, and never heard of such a thing until we purchased the Scat. The dealer applied a coating called Xzilon. I'm not sure if this is considered a ceramic coating, their website simply says: Molecular Adhesion, which honestly, I don't know if that really means anything or not..... Have done some research and not really finding much. Some people like it, some hate it, but most everyone seems to have paid about 2x what I did. Cost was $379 added to the cost of the car, which most people say is really for the warranty (5yrs)
I'm not sure if that is ceramic coating either, but a true ceramic coat looks amazing. 0212353 has had it done to 3 vehicles now and they buff and correct all the imperfections out of the paint and then apply the ceramic coat. He should never have to wax those vehicles again. just wash and dry
$379 at a dealer? RUN AWAY. Yes, I've had 3 vehicles done.......its $$, but its WELL worth it. My hellcat - I had a lifetime package done by St Louis Auto Spa......ran me about $1500. never.....will I have to wax this car, and its SO easy to clean. Like......stupid easy. Water flies off of it.....etc... If you do it, make sure its done by a PRO, using professional products. They will paint correct the car first, then apply the ceramic. Make sure its UV cured......not someone just pulling it into the sun to cure...lol Mine during the curing stage..... look at how deep this is man..... Water beading up on the truck like crazy........oddly enough, I haven't washed my kitty since I've owned it.....lol - weird, but I use optimum no rinse.....so easy!
I think one of the guys in the club tried it. I'm hesitant.....though I don't need to use it........it would be neat to try on the 2010 Ram.
